10 Beauty Guru's on Instagram that must be followed...

So the make-up world and the vision on it changed when instagram came into the cyber world! A simple social media app where you share your photos with a small text on it.

I created one a long time ago and what I love the most about it? Well the make-up community of course! 

There are so much talented and creative souls on Instagram..and great thing about them is they share their products and the way they do their beauty steps. So, not only you can just stare at the great make-up creations but you can also re-create some of the looks if you want!

I actually wanted to share 10 of my most favorite beauty guru 's on Instagram which I think every make-up geek must follow :

Amrezy:

What to say about Amra...Well in my opinion she is the best make-up artist on Instagram there is not a single look she creates that isn't breathtakingly beautiful. Unique thing about her is she creates all the looks on her own pretty face,  I hardly seen her doing make-up or looks on someone else. So being successful with make-up only on your self seems to be possible!  In the Summer of 2014 Amra even collaborated with Anastasia Soare and her Daughter Claudia and presented the Amrezy Palette which belongs to my daily essentials for a while now. Beside make-up looks she also gives you a sneak peak at her closet sometimes.

DressYourFace:

Tamanna Roashan also known as DressYourFace is ( as I like to call her) the Queen of Contouring and well, her hair and make-up creations are just fabulous. What I like about her the most is the fairytail looks she creates on the bride's. Being a Indian myself I love to stare at the photo's she shares of the pretty clients whom she magically turns in to beautiful princesses. Even Tamanna collaborated with Anastasia twice. Once as face of the contour palette and recently she launched the Tamanna Palette which I still am dying to get hold of.

MayaMia

This pretty eyed Beauty called Maya lives in Tanzania which is in Africa. She is a self taught make-up artist in a part of the world where make-up is not very well known and the availability of it is very little. Despite these facts she managed to made a name for her self. As the above mentioned artist even Maya has collaborated with Anastasia and has a palette named 'Maya Mia Palette'. So if you want to re-create her looks not only she has a instagram account but you can follow her on Youtube as well!

HudaBeauty

Huda Kattan is a successful beautyblogger/vlogger she was born and raised in the United States but later on moved to the UAE - Dubai. She has a blog of her own http://hudabeauty.com/ and has a successful youtube channel as well where she gives several beauty tips, reviews and very use full DIY's! Great thing about her instagram account is, that despite the huge amount of followers she daily shares a bunch of her favorite beauty creations by other make-up artist.

Vegas Nay

With over 3 million followers this Vegas based Latina called Naomi must be the most succesfull beauty guru on Instagram. Beside her classic Hollywood face and such a sweet voice she tops in what she does as she is a permanent blogger for Cosmo for Latina's. She not only tops the make-up looks, but also isn't afraid to complete her whole look with always a pretty hair style to go with it. Like Huda, despite her huge amount of followers she maintains to share her favorite picks on a daily basis and share them on her page!

Chrisspy 

This beauty creates incredibly beautiful looks from smokey, holiday, Halloween, celebrity to a full on neutral look.I love the the wigs she tries on in diffrent colours and the Henna showcases are just incredible. I haven't seen a non-asian / middle east person having so much love for henna, and even being a talented henna applier! Desi Make-up

So in my opinion when I landed on Desi Perkins page I thought for a minute I found Jennifer Lopez. I haven't seen anyone else that resembles JLo so much. Desi is a gorgeous beautiful make-up artist with classic looks which you can recreate in details by visiting her youtube channel. She is fun, sweet, beautiful and so helpfull in all her videos. 

Samantha Ravndahl

This blue eyed beauty is just hilarious. I have no other words for her. Her make-up looks are so pretty and if you don't like it ( not been there yet LOL), well she doesn't care. This beauty creates several looks, from party looks to ( I have no clue how to explain it but there I go..) ARTist make-up, in which you can indicate the amount of talent she has. Head over to her youtube channel and you will come to know how funny she actually is. The fact that she sometimes starts a make-up look without thinking by forehand what she will create is one of the things I adore and love about her.

Celine Bernaerts 

I am so proud to say that this talented woman is from the Netherlands. I just love her work, what she does is litterly using make-up and do magic as her work in my opinion is ART. Lately she is trying to enter #BackstagewithPatMcGrath contest for which she is creating looks that are breathless! This girl's work is to admire! 

Samer Khouzami

I think there is not much more I can tell you about Samer Khouzami as I created a separate blog about him and his masterclass. As I named Tamanna the queen I name Samer the king of contouring. End of October.. Means Halloween

Wow October is almost at its end, we're almost ready to welcome the month of November in which we prepare ourselves to get ready for Winter.

Before we can say 'Tata Bye Bye' to October we have to face Halloween!

Ooops rewind....because 'HALLO..October hasn't passed by as yet!' Before we can say 'Tata Bye Bye' to October we have to face the spectacular day called All Hallows' Eve globally known as Halloween!

31 October is also famous as the day lots of people celebrate Halloween. It's sad that we don't celebrate this fun day here in the Netherlands. Halloween is mainly celebrated in the United States of America, Canada, United Kingdom and Ireland. On the night of Halloween kids go in costumes house by house through the neighbour to call their famous trick and treat which referes to a little mischief or a little treat like candy or sometimes money. The neighbour is mostly decorated by lights and carved pumpkins to give this day it's scary mood. 

Back in the Netherlands we have such a similar thing we call Sint Maarten, where the kids go door by door, sing a little song and get a treat in form of candy. However despite the similarity, the 2 festivities have nothing to do with each other.

I've learned that on Halloween many people also attend costumes party's, go to haunted houses, tell scary stories and/or play pranks. Which sounds like so much fun! ( Still on my bucket list.. spend a Halloween in USA..hihi).

So back here in the Netherlands there are some costume parties but very little in compared to countries celebrating. However the theme park 'Walibi' has their 'Fright Night's ' going on, on weekends of the Halloween month. They transform the park in a horror park with professionals walking around in there getup scaring the crap out of everyone and of course there are 5 haunted houses where fear is on the highest level, even if you don't want to be scared..you actually do LOL! 

As a make-up artist I was stunned year by year to see all those other incredibly talented make-up artists creating these stunning and scary looks. So last year I helped my little sister and her boyfriend out with the make-up for their costume party, he wanted to be Mr Dracula and she needed to be the vampy witch! 

Now this year I first gave it a thought... But quickly thought 'Why not.. just give it a try and by time you will get better!' So I created some looks on myself, one is a 'Sugar Skull' and the other a 'half skull'.

Samer Khouzami.. A Beauty Experience

So as some of you might already know I was one of the lucky people here in the Netherlands to attend a Masterclass held by one of the biggest names in the Make-up industry especially in the middle east 

'Samer Khouzami'!

Few months back I went all crazy when my little sister called me on my phone and uttered the words 'OMG Samer Khouzami is coming to the Netherlands for a Masterclass you have to join!'

Within 10 minutes I had applied the form for joining the class and quickly received a confirmation that I gained a spot for the masterclass of Samer Khouzami on the 28th September 2014 ( I couldn't believe it I was not only going to meet him but also learn his way of applying make-up OMG OMG OMG!)

So last Sunday was the day and I wanted to share my experience with you beauties!

Samer is not only known for his application of beautiful make-up, but he is also (as I like to call him) the 'King of Highlighting & Contouring!' 

The story of his journey was so inspiring. A young boy in a not so rich family with a passion growing inside of him,  a passion for make-up!  This passion was just the beginning of what became a dream come true. A successful celebrity make-up Artist, and one of the first make-up artists to go on a world tour to share his knowledge and experience with those who are inspired by his work!

The masterclass started off with the his signature transformation for photo make-up. He showed the tricks,  the inns and the outs of Highlighting and Contouring. His own way to study the face, transform and enhance the most beautiful features of the face. And an incredible look was created! Only this time I felt it wasn't just a look that was created by the master himself,  it was a face which he beautifully transformed into this piece of art! LIVE, with this knowledge that he shared with it! And above all I was part of it!

But that was only the beginning of so much more to come.

After the lunch all the students were asked to have a look at the new model on the stage, as he picked some of the students who volunteered to replicate all the steps for the photo make-up as he explained and demonstrated on the previous model before lunch. Few students, 1 for each step. Of course we were aloud to assist and ask questions during the second part of the class. Humble as he is, he explained the wrong, showed how to correct, and even cheered for those who did well! This second part of the class ended with a look created by Samer and the students together.

Last but not the least part of the class, was all about Bridal make-up! Great thing about this part was that not only we got a step by step creating this look, which was a softer version in regards of highlighting and contouring of the first 2 creations but we also got tips for Bridal Make-up beside the application of itself. To name a few:

- Sit and talk ahead of the Job

- What does the Bride wants?

- How does the bride wants it, what is her vision?

- Where is the wedding to be held

Bridal Make-up in vision of Samer Khouzami is all about helping a bride making her special day a historical one! Not only should she be stunning in person but also making sure that the she is captured beautifully on photo's.

''Make Up is Magic''

For me this was a unforgettable experience. I learned so much about highlighting and contouring which I had no knowledge of whatsoever. And my respects for they way he puts on eye shadows without any fall out! Another thing that I can't forget which was so beautiful, it was the way he addresses the face while he puts make-up on it, he calls it ' the Canvas' which expresses how passionate he is with his work.

If I had to explain my experience and knowledge that he passed on in one sentence it would be ''Make Up is Magic''!

 I would like to thank The Dutch Beauty Academy for making it possible for me to attend the ''Ultimate Beauty Tour'' Masterclass by Samer Khouzami.

Fall Fashion and Beauty Items...

It's sad, days of summer are coming to an end. To be honest half of our summer was very miserable here in the Netherlands, with lots of Rain in the month of August. Two or three days it even happened that the rain was so terrible, that it seemed that the rain of a whole month fell in one day! So now I actually don't care what temperature it is, as long as the Rain stays away. BUT enough complaining, let's welcome the new season that's around the corner..which we call Fall or some of you call it Autumn. 

In my opinion the beauty of this season are the soft colours, the fact that you can just wear a sweater and a sjawl with a trendy skinny jean or a legging in a black or fall colour! And oooooh... I love the the long baggy cardigans combined with the boots...OMG I missed the boots the most during the Spring and Summer seasons. Boots are so trendy within the Fall season and even in the extended part which we call the winter. And the fun of it is that almost everything is so comfortable and fashionable at the same time with Fall Fashion!

And how can I forget the Fall trends for Make-up? I must be crazy if I didn't mention Make-Up in this section. I am obsessing over the gypsy dark lip colours, which are super trendy with this season. Some of my favorite colours are Wine Red, Burgundy, Purple or Plum shades, and of course a nude lip which is wearable every season of the year!

Make-Up the Cheaper way...

Whenever I go to a drugstore ( here in the Netherlands I mainly go to Kruidvat and back in the States when we go on vacation it's always CVS)  I end up buying make-up which I actually don't need but still end up using. I think many of you beauties deal with this. 

We call these make-up items 'Budget Makeup' as most of the people are able to afford them. I mean make-up is all about enhancing the Beauty not about the price tag of the make-up or how big the brand is. For instance a cheaper eyeshadow can also contain high pigment.

Some budget brands are pretty good in quality as well, you don't always need to buy your make-up at the counter of a high end brand, that's a choice that everyone needs to make for themselves.

Today I wanted to share some of my favorite budget make-up brands and my favorite picks!

Let start with my most favorite brand lately, which is so affordable and actually I don't have any bad experiences with it as yet, people that know me can guess it.. yes it's NYX Cosmetics. I use their eye shadows, eyeshadow base, blush, and I am getting obsessed with there lipsticks every time I see them!

Than we have HEMA which is like the Target in the USA. The only difference is that it sells all the products with their own 'Hema' brand. My favorite Liquid Eyeliner is the 'Hema Eyeliner'. It's the blackest in the liquid range. I also use the blush sometimes, as it has a pretty good pigment. I recently bought a pair of lashes as they look so pretty, though I still need to try it.  

Hema Essentials

Catrice cosmetics is one of the cheapest brands along with Essence cosmetics. I run out of my Essence make-up for good pictures but I love the blush of Essence cosmetics, they are everything, the pigment is great and it gives you that subtle overall look. Since a short period I am a huge fan of the limited edition of the Catrice Luminizing Bronzer, it has a pinky glow and its great for highlighting the upper area of the cheeks. 

For all the light shades and uneven skin I highly recommend the All Round Concealer, it's a compact package and is quickly applyable with either your hand or a brush. Now about the lipsticks. They actually are pretty good, but the texture is not that thick, however if you use a liner all over the lips and fill it in with the lipsticks it looks beautiful.

Catrice Essentials

L'oreal Lumi primer is the best primer in my opinion. The texture is great as less is needed, it covers the whole face and eliminates the uneven parts. 

I recently tried the Miss Manga mascara as I only heared and read positive things. Now I have been using it for 3 weeks or so, and it's pretty good as you need less. When pulling out the brush it contains lots of product. I often use it as a second layer of Mascara after I used another Mascara. The brush is designed in a way that it gives you a fuller lash look, and the eyes appear to be bigger. What girl doesn't want that right?!

L'oreal Essentials

The Sleek Make-Up and Elf Cosmetics eye shadows are just incredible, and the prices are ridiculously low. The reason that I only mention the eye shadows is because they are highly pigmented and very easy to blend. For all the ladies a must have!

My favorite Mascara for the last 5 or 6 years is Maybelline Falsies in Black Drama, this mascara gives me the perfect base coat and is the blackest ever. As I mentioned above the first coat that I used is and I think always will be Black Drama, although the Miss Manga now gives me that extra finished look these Mascara's are surely my dream team LOL!

Another newbie is the FIT ME pressed powder which I bought during my visit to the US this year. I bought a powder for the overall face, and a very dark powder which is actually great for contouring as it is very blendable and has no shimmer to it. 

Maybelline Beauty Essentials

Last but not the least, the Rimmel London Kate Moss lipsticks are heavenly. The texture is so smooth and creamy and the lipstick stays during a larger portion of the day. The nude colour is my all time favorite.

The Beauty of doing what you love ...

I love doing Make-up but what I also love is capturing the beauty of my work and make it eternal with my own imagination and creation and put it in a frame.

Last year I decided to buy a somewhat enhanced camera the 'Samsung Nx1000 ' ( yeah for me that camera was very enhanced even though I know there are far more professional camera's on the market but hey..I was doing it all with my phone camera). So I opted for this one as I just wanted to capture my make-up creations with a little more professional camera.

So I asked around and got some volunteers within my family and friends which I dolled up and put in front of my camera! I am so thankful that these people helped me out ( BIG SHOUT OUT. You know who you are!). 

By practicing with make-up on others and photographing I just got better and better not only with the make-up but also taking pictures was getting more exciting. I realized that I had developed a new hobby. Photography, taking pictures of people that I dolled up myself! And I even loved everything around it from arranging the clothes, choosing locations and even helping with poses and the facial expressions during the shots! As I said before my own imagination and creations coming to life! 

Beauty of doing and practicing what you love is, that you keep on developing and discovering new things about yourself.
